Firstly, allow ourselves to introduce ourselves. We are the Heathcote news team. Over the next 5 months we are going to work really hard to produce a news report for the BBC, so all eyes on the Heathcote website on March 15th 2012. Sixth Form Report
We took our first tour of the Heathcote Sixth Form on the 24th November 2011, we were amazed when we first walked in, by the great design and cleanliness of the whole building. We walked around to every classroom and realised that the amount of potential that the Sixth Form had to offer! From music, to hair dressing, everything was there and ready for 250 A* - C students. When we interviewed a teacher who teaches in the Sixth Form, called Ms. Elgie, she said: “I love the new facilities, and it’s really great to have the opportunity to work with older students – some who have stayed with us and some who are new to us. Either way, it’s a real treat.” Ela Beyaz, a student at the Sixth Form, told us: “It’s really good, it’s a huge jump from GCSE, it’s good to go to a Sixth Form where you know all the teachers and the teachers know you. This means that they know your potential, whereas if one were to go to a completely different Sixth Form, you would be entirely new to the teachers and the students. Overall I really like Heathcote Sixth Form as it provides excellent teaching and a great environment to learn in.” The whole Heathcote BBC News team was impressed with what they saw and any of those who weren’t considering applying to the Heathcote Sixth Form, certainly are now.
