At Heathcote School we run many activities to help our students develop their personal money management and enterprise skills.
Some students have indicated that they would like to be given the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice by opening their own bank account, so, with the assistance of Tara Bell from NatWest, we have arranged to provide a School Money Bank service which will operate in due course. This is part of the NatWest MoneySense programme, involving the school and the bank working together.
Students will have the opportunity to open a NatWest Adapt Account for 11-18 year olds. This account earns 1.50% AER (subject to change). Students will be supplied with a paying-in book, and a Solo Cash Card is available if requested. There is no overdraft facility available on the account. Full details, including other savings and benefits available to students are on the specially designed website for the account at www.natwest.com/adapt. There are no fees to students to set up or run the account. The only charge is a £5 optional admin charge if students want to design their own bank card.
