Key Stage 3 Science Curriculum is studied for three years where learners are given the opportunities to:
- Research, experiment, discuss, and develop arguments.
- Pursue an independent enquiry.
- Use real-life examples as a basis for finding out about science.
- Study science in local, national, and global context and appreciate the connections between these.
- Experience science outside the school environment.
- Use creativity and innovation in science.
- Recognise the importance of sustainability in scientific and technological developments.
- Explore contemporary and historical scientific developments and how they have been communicated.
Key Stage 4 Science Curriculum is covered over 2 years where learners are given the opportunities to study:
- Double Science- this is comprised of Core Science and Additional Science each worth a single GCSE grade.
- Triple Science- this is comprised of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics each worth a single GCSE grade.
- BTEC First in Applied Science- this is comprised of Level 2 Certificate where the grades are equivalent to 2 GCSE grades at A* - C and a Level 2 Diploma where the grades are equivalent to 4 GCSE grades at A* - C.
