Sixth Form Curriculum

The sixth form curriculum is a demand led curriculum. This means we are offering the courses that students have told us they want. Students will be able to choose from academic or vocational pathways and, depending on the demands of the course, may be able to mix both.  In addition to their main subject areas, students will have a range of enrichment courses to choose from.

For September 2012, we are offering:

Academic Pathway e.g. "A" Levels:

  • Accounting
  • Art and Design
  • Biology
  • Business Studies
  • Chemistry
  • Design Technology: Product Design (3D Design)
  • Drama
  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • Economics
  • Geography
  • History
  • Information and Communication Technology (Applied)
  • Mathematics
  • Physical Education (PE)
  • Physics
  • Psychology

Vocational Pathway e.g. BTECs:

  • Construction (Maintenance Operations Level 2)
  • Fashion, Hair, Make up and Styling (Level 2)
  • Music Technology: Level 2 in Music Production & iMedia
  • Performing Arts (Level 2)
  • Sport (Level 2 and Level 3 courses available)

Please note, courses offered are subject to student numbers and staff availability.

As a growing sixth form, we may be able to offer alternative courses, provided there is sufficient demand.  Please contact a member of the sixth form team if there is a course you would like added to the curriculum.

More details can be found in the Curriculum Guide

Please note: Due to student voice, we have changed some of the courses in the document. We are now offering Economics A Level and we have replaced the Business Studies BTEC course with a Business Studies A Level course. We no longer offer BTEC Business Studies.
