Every student and member of staff at Heathcote belongs to a house. These houses are Gamma, Beta, Pi, Omega, Sigma, Zeta, Infinity and Delta.
Students earn house points for good work and effort in lessons, and for attending extra curricular clubs. These points are recorded in the student's planner. Students are rewarded for good attendance and punctuality and automatically get housepoints for attending registration in the morning and afternoon on time.
They can also earn house points for representing the school, taking part in charity events, school productions or sporting events; bonus points are available for taking part in House competitions. In student's termly reports, good progress and/or attitude to learning scores are automatically converted to housepoints. Pages 146-147 in the school planner lists even more ways that students can get housepoints.
Each house votes to elect a House Captain. Each prefect in the house makes a presentation at the first house meeting of the year and the rest of the house vote for their captain. These are the students who were voted House Captains in September 2010:

Housepoints are collected throughout the year and students earn certificates when they reach the next target. Details are on page 148 of their school planners. For each certificate earned, the student automatically receives a bonus of 10% towards the next award. Students can see how many points they have by loging into the school website.
House meetings take place each term and the meeting is organised by the House captain and the year representatives. For the next two weeks year representatives will need to be voted for using the school pole. Students are encouraged to vote for their house year representatives and to make sure that their vote counts.
You can log onto the school website to vote for your House Year representatives.
