‘Wow!’, ‘fantastic’, ‘interesting’, were just a few of the words used to describe the play.
In collaboration with the Department of Road Safety in the Borough of Waltham Forest, the PSHE department hosted a play for all Year 10 students. The play focussed on driving under the influence of drugs and not to be misled about the impact it has on individuals and their reaction times. The play had an interactive element where students were able to get involved with the play to demonstrate reactions and behaviour.
The play is about a group of friends who just love mucking about and having fun. One night, after being out on the town, mucking about, taking illegal drugs and consuming alcohol, they get into the car and are involved in an accident. One person is killed, another seriously injured and heading to jail and a friendship in tatters.
Drugs affect people by slowing down their reaction times and making them immune to sensing any form of danger. The message: Drugs can affect your response time and your ability to be rational so be aware.
