Year 11 geography GCSE students attended a fieldtrip in October to the Epping Forest Field studies centre. The pupils collected data on river characteristics and investigated how a river can change as it moves downstream. This work was collected as part of their controlled assessment. They employed a variety of geographical skills throughout the trip and used a range of new equipment, some even got into the river itself to collect their data!
Kristian Medina and Jack Waller said: ‘this was a very successful trip, we learnt many skills, for example water depth measurement. We use equipment that we had never seen before, like a clinometer and ranging poles to measure the gradient. Overall we enjoyed the trip and enjoyed working as a team.’
