Bullying, Cyberbullying and E-safety
Heathcote School and Science College is aware of the issue of bullying, now known as Child on Child abuse. We take incidences very seriously and treat them with confidentiality where possible. We acknowledge that many young people have fears and perceptions of bullying which require addressing. Staff are kept fully informed of bullying incidents or concerns. If you are aware of any bullying issues inside or outside of school, please report it to the school via main reception or the relevant Year Lead.
At Heathcote School and Science College, we take the issue of internet safety seriously and on this page you will find information that will support you as parents and carers.
The internet is a fantastic resource, but it can also bring risks. We work with our pupils in school to help them understand the dangers and learn how to keep themselves safe
All parents and carers are asked to sign an acceptable user agreement when their pupils start school with us. This includes details of an agreement on how they will use the internet in school.
The CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) logo pictured here is on a lot of social networking sites. It is the Advice, Help and Report button. Clicking on it will take you to their website where you can easily follow links for help if you are a parent or child. It is excellent so please try it!
Here you can find the latest advice on how to use the internet and new technologies safely and responsibly, as well as a range of practical resources, news and events focusing on the safe and responsible use of the internet and new technologies.
A copy of the schools Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for pupils is also available to download.
