Heathcote School is an 11 – 18 School that has a new Headteacher and a new vision.  The school is on a rapid journey of improvement ensuring the ‘good’ status (Ofsted 2014) is built on and for the school to become ‘outstanding’ in all areas.

Teacher of Geography

(Teachers Mainscale/UPS)

Commencing January 2018

 

In September 2017, we expanded to an 8 form entry school.  As a result of this expansion, we are looking for a qualified and talented Teacher of Geography (Mainscale / UPS) to teach across the ability range to GCSE and A Level from January 2018.  You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of outstanding teachers and leaders. 

We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers.  As an NQT or Beginner Teacher at Heathcote School, you will be supported by experienced colleagues on a range of issues relating to planning, teaching and assessing with a dedicated mentor and a skills development program that will provide you with the experience required to be a successful practitioner in education. 

The school puts well-being and development at the heart of its work and we have very talented staff who are encouraged to grow, develop and work collaboratively.  We are therefore eager to support the teachers of tomorrow in their aim to join this excellent profession.

Teacher of Economics and Accounting – 0.6 FTE

(Teachers Mainscale / UPS)

Commencing January 2018

 

We are looking for a qualified and talented Teacher of Economics and Accounting – 0.6FTE (Mainscale / UPS) to teach across the ability range at A Level from January 2018. The ability to also teach Business at GCSE, A Level & BTEC Level 3 would be an advantage. You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of outstanding teachers and leaders. The Enterprise Faculty is a very strong department with established links in the Financial Sector; many students successfully secure Higher Level Apprenticeships with these companies and significant numbers read these subjects at University. Results in 2017 at BTEC and A Level were significantly above the national average. 

Due to the popularity and success of this Faculty, there is the possibility of this role increasing to a full-time position towards the end of the academic year.

School Midday Assistant (Secondary) required

Term-time only, 1 hour per day, up to 5 hours per week 

Commencing 3rd January 2018 

Scale 1c, point 8 (£9.62 per hour) 

 

We require a Midday Assistant to effectively supervise students during the lunch period (currently from 1.10 – 2.10pm), providing a continuous presence to ensure the safety, welfare and conduct of pupils in accordance with School policy.
