Easter School at Heathcote
Over the Easter break, we were delighted to be able to offer an Easter School provision for some of our pupils.
In recognition of what a challenging time the last year has been, with so much disruption to all our lives and our pupils’ education, we ran a packed programme from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th April for pupils receiving Free School Meals – with a hot lunch provided.
Sports pupils were involved in a sporting enrichment programme which helped promote healthy choices and lifestyles, with a range of activities such as Basketball, Short Tennis, Football, Cricket, Capture the Flag, Handball, Table Tennis, Tag Rugby, and Problem Solving included. SEND pupils also enjoyed a range of activities, especially important for those who have missed out on key aspects of transition, and we hope this will be a key step in improving their communication and social skills. A carousel of activities included circus skills, maths workshops, literacy games, social skills workshop, arts and crafts, dance workshops and a ‘junkyard’ craft challenge.
