Heathcote are Waltham Forest Girls Football League Champions!

Ms Gogar gives us a flavour of the recent successes enjoyed by our girls' football team...

Since the October half term, the Waltham Forest Girls Football League has been up and running with great success.

The competition is open to all schools within the borough and offers a good standard of football for the participants. Leyton Orient Football Club fund the competition and provide the facilities, medals and trophies.

The Heathcote Year 10/11 team had a very strong start to the competition, beating Chingford School 4-0, and this continued right up to their last game against Walthamstow School For Girls with another 4-0 victory leading to them winning the league.

The team was privileged enough to meet the owner of Leyton Orient F.C Kent Teague, who visiting London from his homeland of Texas. He was very impressed with the girls' performance and encouraged them all to continue playing within the sport.

The girls' commitment and drive to succeed has been amazing this season especially with so many of them re-arranging intervention sessions so that they could play.

Well done Team!!
