Heathcote Sixth Form celebrates A-level Results
Heathcote’s Sixth Form has today released our A-level and BTEC results.
In these unprecedented times, pupils have today received their A Level and BTEC results. It has been great to see so many pupils in school on ‘Results Day’ (socially distancing at all times, so a little different from the normal warm and emotional event!)
Moriah Sanusi (left) celebrates with 4 A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. She will start a Physics degree at Imperial College in the Autumn. She said ‘Physics can take me anywhere; so let’s see where it takes me!’. She said she had worried about the final outcomes but trusted her teachers totally and fortunately her centre assessed grades did not change.
Michael Stanway (right) received 4 A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. He will start at the University of St Andrews in September and has recently visited, returning to Chingford by bicycle – over 500 miles of cycling and camping to get home.
Husna Nazar (left) received a Reading List Foundation Scholarship of £250 for exceptional academic achievement to support the buying of books in her first year. She is going to Queen Mary University of London to read Law and Politics with a B in English Literature and an A in Politics and Sociology.
There were a number of excellent results in BTEC Business and Nathan Loukil was one of a number of pupils who received D*DD.
We are delighted with the resilience and commitment of our pupils and celebrate some amazing individual results. Although the school has had a staggering 49% of entries downgraded (54% of A levels) affecting 77 pupils, we are so proud of all our young people. This has been a really difficult year for Year 11 and 13 pupils and we are committed to supporting all of them with ensuring the Class of 2020 have the same, if not better, opportunities as all other group of pupils previously.
