Heathcote pupils and staff are delighted that all the hard work over the last five years has paid off.

Pupils received the best set of results ever with 51% of pupils receiving a grade 5 in both English and Maths and 73% receiving a grade 4 in both subjects.

Disadvantaged pupils slightly out-performed non-disadvantaged in these measures which shows the relentless commitment to supporting this group of young people and in contrast to results nationally.

The school is thrilled that these outcomes have been achieved despite the most severely disrupted time in education for these young people.

The progress pupils have made from age 11-16 has risen exponentially since 2017 and pupils now perform far better than the national average during their time at the school.

Departing Headteacher, Emma Hillman, says “I couldn’t have wished for a better set of results that reflect the hard work of our amazing young people and staff during their time at Heathcote. Sharing the successes with pupils this morning was a privilege and honour and, not only were results amazing but, they are a wonderful, ambitious and caring set of young people as well. Many are staying on in the Sixth Form to continue their education. Our future is in good hands.”

Ms Close, the new Headteacher, couldn’t be happier and is confident that this is the final affirmation needed that Heathcote School provides the highest level education in Waltham Forest in so many areas. Councillor Alistair Strathern, Cabinet Lead for Children and Young People, spent the morning at the school and sent his congratulations to all our young people.
