Dear Prospective pupils and families of Heathcote School,

We warmly invite you to visit our school as you embark upon making a decision about which secondary school is your first choice.

Why should I consider Heathcote School?

Heathcote School and Science College is an 11-18 mixed community school. Our vision is that every child receives the best education both in the classroom and outside, ensuring nobody is left behind socially or academically and that we develop well-rounded individuals who are challenged and stretched whatever their starting point and who succeed in realising their ambitions. Heathcote's ethos is one of success built on inclusion, care and support for all its learners. At Heathcote School we put learning and learners first in every aspect of school life.

Heathcote School has a track record of pushing all pupils to reach their potential and securing great results at GCSE and A Level. This year, we achieved our best GCSE results:

GCSE results 2022:

4+   66% (including English & Maths)

Sonia Close, our Headteacher, is committed to improving further and becoming the number one school of choice for pupils in the local area as well as continuing to attract high quality staff. Previously a Deputy Headteacher, this appointment ensures Heathcote School will continue to drive up standards of education. Heathcote School and Science College has a clear vision and values statement which makes it plain what we stand for:

Heathcote School 118Encourage

We encourage our pupils to take pride in their learning and community – to work hard, pursue continual improvement and achieve to the best of their abilities. Pupils seek and embrace feedback and show tolerance and mutual respect to each other.

Challenge

We challenge our pupils to take responsibility for their learning, to be resilient to failure and to self-regulate their behaviour. All our staff and governors are determined that all pupils confidently strive for success and expect them to be present and punctual.

Succeed

We succeed when all pupils reach their academic potential and are thoughtful, caring and honest citizens, leaving Heathcote fully prepared for the next stage of their life – whether that be in education, training or employment. We succeed by letting them do so in a comfortable and safe environment where they take a proactive role and develop socially.
