Heathcote is a Healthy School, believing in linking good health, behaviour and achievement through a whole school approach.

As part of this, we are committed to providing a healthy balanced diet. Our menus are popular, varied and nourishing; each one is checked by a nutritionalist.

Below you will find the menus currently rotating on a tri-weekly basis.

Please use the links below to view the current menus available:

Due to new Government guidelines, all meals containing any of the fourteen main allergens are identified at the serving counters. We use these key symbols to identify allergens in each meal.

Meal labels at the point-of-sale state the meal on offer and any allergens that the meal contains. They also clearly identify Vegetarian and Halal Options.

All cakes offered for sale contain Gluten (wheat), Eggs and Milk while Flapjacks contain Sulphur Dioxide. Pupils can ask members of the catering team if they are unsure of whether a meal contains allergens. This sign is displayed in the dining hall, Sixth Form cafeteria and one the Allergen display boards.

The meals are good value for money:

  • A Main Hot Meal with 1 item* costs £2.10.
  • A Main Hot Meal with 2 items* costs £2.50.
  • A Small Roll and Water with 1 item* costs £2.10.
  • A Small Roll and Water with 2 items* costs £2.50.

*1 item = either 1 bottle of water or 1 piece of fruit or 1 mini muffin or 1 portion of jelly.

Please contact the school for more information.

Sixth Form

Packed Lunches

Despite the quality of the school meals, some parent/carers choose to send a packed lunch for their pupil's lunch. If you do so, we ask that you follow the information on packed lunches advice from the School Food Trust.

Free School Meals

Free school meals are now administered by the Benefits Service, making it simpler to apply. Information can be found on the Waltham Forest Website.
