Welcome from the Director of Sixth Form
The Sixth Form at Heathcote encompasses the school’s values: ‘Encourage, Challenge, Succeed.’
All students in the Sixth Form are encouraged to pursue their goals through the array of academic and vocational pathways we offer. We are proud of the wide range of the courses available and believe that there is something for everyone here. Pupils from every social, academic and religious background are encouraged to be active and responsible young adults and we encourage them to support and work with younger Heathcote students as well as the wider community. Through our pastoral team and tutorial system we have developed excellent relationships between students and staff and a warm and inclusive community dedicated to learning.
Heathcote Sixth Form also ensures every pupil is challenged to achieve his or her full academic potential, regardless of their starting point. Alongside our unwavering commitment to securing the best exam results, we recognise the need to develop employability skills for our young adults. We ensure students are challenged appropriately as they progress to Higher Education, Apprenticeships, employment or gap years and have access to specialist careers information advice and guidance as well as a range of work experience and enrichment opportunities. Heathcote also expects students to rise to the challenge we set for them and have high expectations of our pupils to be positive role-models, committed learners and well-rounded young adults.
We want every pupil to develop a life-long love of learning, to be healthy and safe, to lay the foundations of their future well-being and to make a positive contribution to society. Through our encouragement and challenge, we hope that Heathcote Sixth Formers go on to be successful adults.
Thank you for taking the time to look at what Heathcote Sixth Form has to offer – if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at the school.
