Welcome from the Director of Sixth Form
I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Heathcote Sixth Form – we are lucky enough to have our own designated building for our pupils in Year 12 and 13. I am very proud and fortunate to lead our pupils into the next stage of their education. My goal is to ensure Heathcote Sixth Form is a place where every pupil feels inspired academically and through enrichment opportunities to achieve personal excellence.
We offer a broad range of qualifications and encourage each individual to choose a balanced and challenging combination of courses appropriate to their strengths and interests. From A-Level to Level 3 BTEC and a City and Guilds Level 2 in Construction, our goal is to provide a pathway for all that is ambitious and fully prepares our pupils for adult life.
In addition to encouraging academic aspiration, our wider enrichment programme provides pupils with the opportunity to broaden their skill set, building resilience, independence and the ability to be critical thinkers. Our Pupil Ambassador and volunteer programme inspire pupils to step outside their comfort zone regularly and contribute to the wider school community. Showing a commitment to a culture of giving, is an essential part of the character education here at Heathcote.
Our dedicated pastoral team and tutorial system are on hand to guide pupils through every step of their Sixth Form experience. Our staff genuinely care for our pupils and work hard to achieve the ideal balance between nurturing pupils as they transition into Key Stage 5 and encouraging excellence through personal or academic challenge. In addition, they are on hand to provide guidance and support with applying to competitive universities like Oxford and Cambridge, apprenticeships and internships. They help build future leaders that are compassionate and responsible citizens of their community.
However, the best part of Heathcote Sixth Form is our pupils. They are ambitious, kind, dedicated and considerate. They make this Sixth Form an extraordinary and unique place to study. Here, you will find an inclusive community that supports each other to achieve their very best.
Whatever your career ambitions, subject choices or interests, we are sure you will find Heathcote Sixth Form a challenging, exciting and enjoyable place to be.
